Why
Choose a Stone Countertop?
Quality Resilience and Elegance
The resilience, distinctive elegant appearance and convenience of stone countertops
is legendary. No other material at once offers such quality and convenience.
Stone countertops add immediate and lasting value to your home or business
while providing your kitchen, bathroom, office or other rooms with a unique,
distinctive and elegant appearance.
Stone can be purchased in a wide variety of overall colors, edge designs and
treatments to match the overall theme, design and decor of the room.
Caring for stone countertops is a breeze. Stone is the most resilient material
very easy to clean and maintain and is virtually impervious to abrasions,
stains, and extreme heat.
When properly sealed liquids cannot penetrate stone countertops and are easily
sanitized. For this reason stone is more resistant to bacterial, viral and
fungal contamination then traditional countertops.
Below are descriptions and some sample images of granite, marble and quartz
stone.
To get a much better idea of the possibilities for
your countertop choice, we strongly suggest coming in person to visit our

Granite
Uncompromising Beauty and Durability
Granite is an extraordinarily hard and durable coarse-grained stone that comes
in a vast array of colors depending on it's composition, and interestingly
is exclusive to the Earth's continental crust where it forms.
With it's consistent grain, and legendary durability, granite has become the
stone of choice for residential and commercial applications. The diamond-like
hardness of granite makes it virtually impervious to abrasions, stains and
heat.
Marble
Classic Refinement and Beauty
Marble has become a cultural symbol of tradition and refined taste and adds
a pure and graceful finish to any interior or exterior.
Marble is composed of metamorphosed limestone, and is one of the most popular
stones in the world, with its typical pure white appearance, and brilliant
lustrous finish made popular by ancient Greek and Roman artisans, architects
and stone masons.
The word 'marble' derives from the Greek word 'mármaron' which means 'crystalline
rock' or 'shining stone'. The refractive nature of Marble allows light to
penetrate into the polished finish giving the stone a waxy, lifelike depth.
Marble is also available in many colored varieties, where the inlaid swirls
and veins of color are due to various mineral impurities such as clay, silt,
sand, iron oxides, which were present as grains or layers in the original
limestone.
Marble does not have the resilience and heat proof qualities of granite however
due to its grain and classic look, it is the countertop of choice in bathrooms,
backsplashes and other accent areas.
Quartzite
Unique Crystalline and Exclusive
Quartzite is a beautiful crystalline stone, which when polished has a brilliant
shimmering appearance.
Quartzite incidentally is the most commonly used minerals in the making of
jewelry and hardstone carvings throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Due to it's unique appearance, and large spectrum of colors and textures,
the stone has become a popular material for countertops for residential and
commercial installations.
Quartzite is available in a wide variety of colors from reddish orange, brown,
gray, pink, mint green, yellow, violet and gold making it quite versatile
to match a wide spectrum of decor.
Quartzite does not have the same resilience as granite, and some care and
precautions must be taken with heat and liquids, but the surface can be sealed
to increase it's durability. Trivets and other boards and stands are recommended
to protect quartz from the high heat from cookware.
